Early next morning I was woken up by a huge frog that was jumping over my legs.
It was 5.00 then. I had a good nights sleep and there was no sign of fatigue despite the hard work we had done yesterday.
The morning was pleasant. We had an excellent climate all throughout. Just enough clouds to block the sun, but still no rains...except for an occasional drizzle.
Today we had to go to Kanhera and Pitalkhore caves.
After having hot coffee and biscuits, we started off for Khanera.
As we did not have our rucksacks to carry (we had left them at the The shack where we had camped last night.) waking withought the load made us cover the distance fast, and within no time we reached a Hemadpanthi Mahadev temple. It was a beautiful temple with excellent stone work all around.
Actually we knew that the way to the fort was right behind the Mahadev temple, but again we trusted a chap in the temple and took another rout...and got lost. Finally we came back to the temple and followed the route behind the temple.
After a little climb, we reached some old buddhist caves.
A little ahead, we hit a steep rock patch. After climbing the rock patch (which was not too difficult without the sacks) we reached the top.
The Sadhu we had seen at the Mahadev temple told us that we could see the fort Darwaja from the very top, so we climbed further, and indeed we could see the Buruj, and Darwaja.
We could also get an excellent view of the entire region from the top. The view of the Mahadev mandir, and the Patandevi mandir surrounded by lush green forest was a scene worth watching.
We quickly reached back to the shack, had some kanda bhaji and tea, and waited for the bus to take us to patandevi mandir.
This time we were not let down, and the bus came soon.
We reached patandevi in a few minutes, and started off for Pitelkhore caves.
